Biography
Among Holger Keifel´s many museum and gallery exhibitions are a 2002 solo show "WTC Rescue Workers" at The Butler Institute of American Art, and a 2004 solo show "A Portrait of Boxing" at The Butler Museum of Contemporary Art, both in Ohio.
His book BOX – The Face of Boxing was published in 2010 by Chronicle Books. Keifel's portraits are on numerous book and CD covers. He has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Der Spiegel, ZeitWissen, Esquire, GQ, The Observer Sport Monthly, Black+White Magazine and American Photography.
Keifel moved from Germany to New York City in 1993, where he lives and works.
Exhibitions
Holger Keifel´s iconic portraits are included in the permanent collections of The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, The Brooklyn Museum, The Museum of the City of New York, The Butler Museum of Contemporary Art, The 9/11 Memorial and Museum in New York City, and at the Charles Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, California.
