Holger Keifel

Museums, magazines and commercial work are all familiar territory for German-born photographer Holger Keifel. 

Specializing in portraits, Keifel's work graces numerous book and CD covers, and has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Der Spiegel, ZeitWissen, The Observer Sport Monthly, Black+White Magazine and American Photography.

Keifel moved to New York City in 1993,
where he lives and works. 



Butler Museum

In 2002, Keifel began his most ambitious project,
"The Face of Boxing," a series of over 350 portraits,
ranging from trainers, managers and cutmen to such superstars as Evander Holyfield, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya. Among his many museum and gallery exhibits are a 2004 solo show, "Boxers," at The Butler Museum of Contemporary Art, and a 2002 solo show, "WTC Rescue Workers," at The Butler Institute of American Art, both in Ohio.
